It will take time for the benefits of the networks to become apparent. But some gains are already clear.
The networks widen the net, allowing many more voices in the Borough to be heard. The Youth Network links up lots of smaller organisations. Collectively they can be heard. Individually their voices can get lost. Sarah Robertson reports that when speaking as the lead for the Youth Network, she gets more attention and time from Council colleagues.
By the same token, the networks have tapped into the individual capabilities that might have been overlooked in the past. Sarah is one example. Natalia -the driver behind the idea of a village to bring up children is another. Rahela at Thames Ward another. Sally at Community Resources. Almu, Elspeth, Ruth, Valeria…. It is a long list.
